How to wrap hands for Muay Thai
The first thing before the Muay Thai is
open the hand wrap roll, the round thing that is attached to the end of the hand
wrap that's going to go around the thumb. From here, look at the palms facing
down so it can get a better idea of where it should go. Wrap the hand with the
wrap roll from the back three times. Now go over the thumb from the back, go
around the thumb and go back towards the wrist, don't go around again.
The wrap will move up; it's going to protect the
wrist joint that connects the wrist; it's not trying to protect the form. The
purpose of right-hand wrapping is to protect the wrist and the knuckles. So now
go around one time and make a half X going towards the knuckle, spread the
finger lower. The downside for doing this is if it is wrapped too tight, then it
is going to cut blood circulation. From here go half X go around the knuckles
three times. Now half of the third one makes another half X or complete the X
going towards the wrist and then around the wrist.
Since this is the
closed palm, it does not have to worry about what's going to be inside. Now in
between the pinky and the ring finger, bring it straight down towards the wrist
like so. Repeat the motion three times, going in between each of the fingers. Go
in between and bring it straight up, go in between the ring finger and the point
and the middle finger, bring it straight down. Now from here, go one more time
between the middle finger and the pointing finger and bring it straight down.
From here, go around the wrist one time and make another half X going towards
the knuckles and go around a couple of times. Depending on the hand size, it can
go three times and finishing in towards the wrist making half X going around and
finishing right where the wrist is narrow and small. To acquire additional

Do not wrap on the top as, during the training, it
can slide down, and the hand wrap is going to be all loose. Elastic wrap will
give a little firmness when going around. It can make it lose, depending on what
is preferred. But tighter will give better protection during the Muay
Thai.
